Job Summary: The Video Department is seeking an experienced associate producer and camera operator with a minimum of 3 years experience. Individual must be a creative independent thinker, able to work in a team environment, and take direction from department head. Candidate must be familiar with the entire video production process, from pre-production to post-production. The candidate for this position must be client-service oriented and able to work with a variety of personalities and high-stress situations. Job Responsibilities: 25%- Independently identify and produce compelling videos about LSU with guidance of the Senior Video Producer. 25%- Shoot and edit project requests, including, but not limited to, college promotional, campus events, and press conferences. 25%- Work collaboratively within Strategic Communications to develop strategy, high-end, and impactful video content for the university's recruitment purposes. 25%- Perform typical office duties related to the department of video production, including basic technical troubleshooting, student worker supervision and equipment and studio maintenance. Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree with 3 years of experience. Experience must constitute on-set experience with audio, lighting, and camera operation. Applicant must submit a reel (online preferred) with a description of the work done as well as involvement in projects. Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree with 3-4 years' experience working in a PR environment. Job Competencies: Proficient in the following: Experience with grip and a variety of lighting setups Experience working in a PR environment with the ability to work collaboratively, think strategically, and professionally represent the video department at all times Proficiency in on-location audio mixing and setting up wireless audio systems. Familiarity of different video compressions and codecs Familiarity with YouTube, Vimeo, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and Snapchat as it pertains to video Advanced in the following: At least 3 years of on-location video production experience At least 3 years' experience with Adobe Creative Suite, with an emphasis on Premier Pro and After Effects Familiarity with Canon 55D Mark III, BlackMagic Ursa Mini, and Sony camera systems Understanding of lenses as it relates to the DSLR and cinema cameras Willingness to learn new things with a positive attitude Must be able to carry video equipment up to 50 pounds.Serves as essential personnel in times of emergencies. Essential personnel duties can include but are not limited to: shooting video of the campus in the aftermath of a storm or crisis; assisting in setting up and participating in the official LSU call center; recording emergency voice mail messages for the university; and other related communication duties. Additional miscellaneous functions as assigned. In accordance with University Policy Statement 18, this position is considered essential and may be required to report or stay on campus in the event of emergency or closure.
