The Crossing is a non-denominational, multi-site church, with four St. Louis-area campuses, where we gather each weekend to study this ancient story found in Scripture that is still transforming lives today. We blend teaching and worship with art and technology to create a service where you can experience the message of Jesus in practical and life-changing ways. This full-time position is responsible for the oversight and implementation of all audio equipment and development of techniques that set a high standard of audio in all of The Crossing venues throughout the week. This includes comprehensive mixing (both live and recorded) for weekly services/events, recruiting and training all staff and volunteers in audio production, researching and developing best practices of audio that will create an environment to best match the production style desired, leading system upgrades, and managing the audio equipment in all venues. ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES Operation and Mixing Responsible for management and operation of audio personal for The Crossing at large Manage and operate Front of House and/or monitor consoles in the Chesterfield auditorium Coordinate and/or lead set-up and strike band and musician gear for weekend worship services/special events Oversee scheduling of audio staff and volunteers for weekend services, events/classes Understand and maintain desired sound levels and mixes Research music and develop audio playlists Training and Maintenance Empower staff and volunteers to operate audio consoles and equipment Responsible for setting standard of excellence for set up and install Research and Development of ideas, mixing styles and concepts Responsible for any audio gear/system installs Administration and Management Attend campus production, TechArts staff, Crossing staff, and Managers meetings when/if scheduled Oversee all audio staff and volunteers Responsible for all audio budget items and dollars Responsible all Front of House Booths and Broadcast Audio Suite Stay current with modern trends and technology changes that could better work flow Responsible for ensuring that all deadlines are met Other duties as assigned by leadership Required Experience includes: Five years of sound and/or production engineering (or equivalent combination of training/experience) Ability to reach and maintain desired live audio mix in a short amount of time Must have experience working with musicians Extensive knowledge and experience in a range of musical styles Working knowledge stage and console patching Experience in troubleshooting and on the spot problem solving to seek fast solutions Shows ability to be an active learner of new technology and common trends All qualified individuals must meet the above job-specific requirements, in addition to the following requirements for all staff members of The Crossing: Be passionate about The Crossing and a relationship with God Baptized as a follower of Christ Completion of all vision venues within the first year of employment Regard the Bible as God’s final authority in all areas of Christian life and desire to be wholly obedient to it Wholeheartedly affirm The Crossing’s Statement of Faith, including our view on baptism Live a lifestyle consistent with scriptural principles The Crossing offers a competitive benefits package including employer paid medical, dental and vision insurance as well as company paid life insurance, short-term and long-term disability and a 401(k) match!
