APMG's primary operating divisions Minnesota Public Radio, Southern California Public Radio and American Public Media offer multi-regional FM broadcast channels, website, mobile and social media channels, live events, national content creation and distribution. Together, these divisions operate 49 public radio stations and 42 translators serving regional audiences in eight states from Minnesota, Michigan and the Upper Midwest to Idaho and California; distribute a portfolio of more than twenty national programs reaching nearly 20MM listeners weekly through 1,000 radio stations; serve rapidly growing audiences on digital, social and mobile platforms; and produce an increasing and diverse array of podcasts featuring the best in food, culture, entertainment, mental health, water, early brain development, business and investigative journalism.

Your Role:

As the Assistant Digital Producer for YourClassical, you will assist in creating, publishing and managing digital content on a variety of YourClassical platforms, including web, podcasts, newsletters, video and social media.

Compensation Range: $17.50 - $26.25/hour. Exact hourly rate determined by experience and education related to the role, organizational compensation structure and internal equity.

Position Responsibility:

  • Publish multimedia content (text, audio, video, photography) to various social media channels in a character consistent with those brands.
  • Assist with monitoring and responding to user comments.
  • Monitor analytics of social posts
  • Prepare text, photos, video and audio for publication on digital platforms
  • Write basic web features, as assigned
  • Assist with writing and building of e-mail newsletters
  • Assist with uploading of video content
  • Upload audio feeds and files for distribution as podcasts and audio clips
  • Manage giveaways and fulfillment
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • 1-2+ years’ digital media and web publishing experience
  • 1-2+ years’ experience in writing, editing and online production work
  • Social media publication, curation and analytics experience
  • Experience using a CMS to publish web features such as Drupal, Wordpress

Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:

  • Fluency in Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and YouTube administration.
  • Proficiency in preparing material for online use
  • Understanding of basic digital metrics.
  • Knowledge of basic Web production standards and tools (i.e., HTML, content management systems).
  • Excellent language skills, including writing, editing, and proofreading.
  • Ability to edit text, images, audio, video.
  • Experience editing and managing spreadsheets.
  • Ability to make decisions quickly and under pressure to meet deadlines.
  • Excellent teamwork skills.

Preferred Skills and Experience:

  • Familiarity with AP Style
  • Passion for and demonstrated experience with classical music
  • Familiarity with online arts/entertainment content, especially classical
