Classification: Intern – Non-Exempt, 20 hrs/wk, 1-2 year assignment
Ministry Area: Communications

MINISTRY AREA PURPOSE: The purpose of the Westwood Communications Department is to tell the story of God in creative and compelling ways.

ROLE: Be a contributing member of the Communications video team by helping in any and/or all aspects of the production process.

  • Working alongside the Communications team to learn and help with:
o All phases of video creation from collaborative ideation, storyboarding and filming through post-production and effectiveness debrief
o Asset gathering (photo, video or other) and ideation for social media purposes

  • Reports to the Video Manager
  • Collaborates with all ministry areas and Communications Team in producing creative video content
  • Works alongside volunteers in various roles
  • Familiarity with professional video cameras and other related gear
  • Familiarity with professional video editing software
  • 1-2 years education and/or experience in professional video production
  • Comfortable using the Adobe Creative Cloud suite
  • Comfortable using Microsoft Office and basic operation of a computer
  • Ability to work in team
  • Ability to meet deadlines
  • Ability to do well under stress
  • Ability to receive constructive feedback
  • High capacity to learn new things
  • Ability to follow through on tasks and follow through with people
  • Familiarity with both Mac and PC operating systems helpful
  • Creative capacity & flexibility

  • Ability to handle confidential information professionally
  • Ability to relate to other Westwood staff and church attenders at large
