Summary of Responsibilities The Audio-Visual (AV) Integrations Technician installs and maintains AV systems, including office, conference room, and classroom AV, as well as digital signage and cableTV installations. The technician will work as part of a larger team that provides audio-visual services across the University, including supporting live events with audio visual media technology. The technician will work with customers, vendors, network technicians, electrical and carpentry trades, and Information Technology Services and AV Engineering teams to develop estimates and engineering work orders, assist with procurement of audio-visual equipment, install, and commission audio-visual systems. This position will also help provide maintenance of the physical layer of the audio-visual infrastructure, including AV and IT signal paths, AV system configurations, and loading of control code. Position will be responsible for final commissioning and will assist in the system verification of new installs, including creation, revision, and archival of system’s as-built documentation, end-user support documentation, and programming code. All positions in the Campus Media Services department require a flexible schedule, including some evenings and weekends. Minimum Education Associates or Technical Degree by hire date Minimum Experience 3 to 5 years of experience in audio-visual system installation, troubleshooting and repair, or equivalent combination of education and formal training is required. Avixa CTS-I certification or equivalent combination of experience and training is required. US Export Compliance Requirement NA Knowledge, skills and abilities Experience with HDCP and EDID Knowledge of modern construction processes and systems integration project management A demonstrated record of strong customer service skills and ability to work with multiple high priority assignments Strong English written and verbal skills Experience working on construction job sites and coordinating with other trades (electrical, HVAC, etc.) Understanding of enterprise IP networking, including DNS, DHCP, and subnetting Required Licenses, Certificates & Registrations Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license; may be required to operate a motor vehicle travel to/from job sites.
