Responsibilities: Ability to follow instructions and detailed instructions from directors, producers, project managers, etc. Set up and test sound equipment before events, broadcasts or studio recordings Record, edit and mix audio tracks (video, vocals etc.) Enhance sound quality and add sound effects to recordings Work with video editors to synchronize video with audio tracks Play backing tracks and special effects during live events Collaborate with lighting, camera and other studio crew under tight deadlines Create and maintain sound libraries Resolve technical issues when they arise Requirements: Over 3 years proven experience as sound engineer Technical expertise in sound engineering techniques and best practices Experience with sound editing and recording equipment (e.g. mics and mixing consoles) Working knowledge of recording software and hardware (e.g. Pro Tools, Logic, Audition) A team player with excellent communication skills and grace under pressure Creativity and attention to detail Problem-solver with minimal direction Excellent hearing and manual dexterity, must be able to lift 50 pounds on a regular basis and spend long hours on your feet College degree in audio/sound engineering or related field As an equal opportunity employer, WGU recognizes that our strength lies in our people.
